Aaron Geister, Executive Chef
Chef Aaron Geister is from Portland, Oregon. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, he quickly realized that using
the freshest seasonal ingredients is what makes a dish stand out.
As with most chefs, Geister's first job in a professional kitchen was washing dishes, and he soon realized his
passion was cooking on the line. For five years in Oregon, he worked at various restaurants with different concepts.
After coming to Arizona, he decided to get serious and go to culinary school.
After school, Geister went on to become Sous Chef at Cartwright's Sonoran Ranch House. Honing his real cooking
chops here, Geister soon was called upon to become Chef of Tonto Bar and Grill, Cartwright's sister restaurant in Cave Creek. Geister became an innovator, known for his high-end eclectic Southwestern cuisine focused on local,
sustainable ingredients. After Tonto, Geister moved to Heirloom at DC Ranch, working with innovative, well-known
chef, Michael DeMaria. As the Managing Chef of the restaurant, he carried on the philosophy of using local and
freshest ingredients.
Now, Chef Geister turns the page and is the Executive Chef of Copper Canyon Golf Club. He looks forward to bringing his cooking philosophy and cuisine-driven approach to Copper Canyon. In his free time, he enjoys jazz
music, trying new restaurants and his growing family.
