Interclub

On August 5th a group of Sun City Festival residents participated in the 2nd match of the White Tank Cup Challenge matches with Sun City Grand residents. With the Sun City Festival team leading 5 points to 2 points after the first match, the Sun City Grand residents were ready to even the points heading into the final match. The match featured a scramble format on the front nine and an alternate shot format on the back nine.

Playing in the match and paired together from Sun City Festival and winning their matches were:

Bill McReynolds & Bill Rademacher, Sam Scavonne & Bob Groves, and Josh Clay & Ralph West.

Playing in the match and paired together from Sun City Festival and losing their matches were:

John Yore & Steve Smithey, Chuck Kerzan & Keith Bumgardner, Gary Baugh & Pat Treadway, and Larry Koehler & Mike Corson.

With each match worth one point each, Sun City Grand won the daily totals with a 4 to 3 count, but Sun City Festival still leads with an 8-6 point total heading into the final match.

The Final match will be held on September 9th with a 7:00am starting tee time at the Sun City Grand Granite Falls South Course.

A qualifier is being held on August 28th with a sign-up deadline of noon on August 27th. Sign-ups are being taken at this time in the golf shop. The qualifier will determine 9 players for the final match with a Captain's choice of 3 players for the final.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - Granite Falls South - 7:00am Shotgun**

Format: Singles Match

** Awards luncheon at JB's Restaurant in Sun City Grand to follow golf.

Cost:

Green fees at the "away course" will be $25 (includes golf, cart, range balls and tax).
Green fees at the "home course" will be regular resident/annual/flex rates.
A $10 prize fee will be collected and will be 100% paid out for each event. Each player on the winning team will win a $20 gift certificate to the pro shop holding the event.
Awards lunch will cost $12 (includes cheeseburger, fries, dessert and beverage for the final event).
No-host lunch will be available at the first two events.

Each team will consist of 12 Men's Club members and two PGA Golf Professionals. Each individual match will be worth 1 point and ties will be worth half a point. The team at the end of the three matches with the most points will win the coveted "White Tank Cup".

Golf Format:

Low Gross/Low Net; each player played for the Low Gross score without handicap or the Low Net score with full handicap. Everyone played from the Combination tees.
